The Shark SUPs Folding Universal Fin Box is a practical upgrade that enhances both performance and portability. Featuring a Universal (US) fin box system, it offers broad compatibility with a wide range of fins, allowing you to adapt your board to different water conditions and paddling styles.
Its standout feature is the folding design. Unlike traditional rigid fin boxes, this flexible construction makes it easier to roll your board, simplifying packing and reducing bulk during storage and transport.
Simple to install, it can be bonded directly onto most inflatable paddleboards, giving you a more versatile, travel-friendly fin setup in no time.
Installation Guide – For a Strong, Long-Lasting Bond. For best results, we recommend using DrBoat Repair Glue to attach the Fin Box. Follow these steps:
• Inflate your board to 15 PSI.
• Clean the surface thoroughly, removing old glue or residue. Use acetone or nail polish remover for best results.
• Apply a thin layer of glue to both surfaces (the cargo point base and the board), but don’t press them together yet.
• Let the glue dry for about 20 minutes, depending on air temperature.
• Apply a second layer of glue to both surfaces.
• Carefully press the surfaces together, starting from the centre and pushing outward to remove air bubbles. Use a hairdryer to warm the area and activate the adhesive.
• Apply firm pressure for at least 5 minutes to ensure a tight bond. • Place a heavy weight on the area for at least 8 hours to allow the glue to fully cure.
